Lightworks

The Lightworks project brings together expertise and resources from Arizona State University and external partners to promote light-inspired research and raise awareness, educate and inspire action to solve energy challenges. A unit of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability, researchers pursue operational energy solutions, from policies to sustainable fuels and solar electric, directed toward enhancing energy security to encourage efficiency and conservation.

ASU recognizes that promoting sustainability begins internally with our own business practices and university policy. We are working across the university to address sustainability in all facets of university life, from conserving energy in classrooms to constructing new lab facilities. The university's on-site 24 MW in solar-energy capacity – enough to power 2,500 Arizona homes each year. ASU is the only higher education institution in the United States to have a solar capacity of this size.
