School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering
Electrical engineers combine all of the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) fields to imagine and create new technologies that will benefit the world – from entertainment and communication to environmental preservation and health monitoring. Electrical engineering is an integral part of modern science and technology, and as our future continues to move deeper into the electronic age, we need engineers with a solid background and understanding of this field.
It is a highly diverse field with an increasing transdisciplinary focus. Electrical and computing devices are found in common appliances and systems in communications, medicine, energy, space exploration and the environment. You can pursue your field of interest, or discover a new passion for an area of engineering you had never considered.
Our primary focus is the education of students, who are important contributors to our research. The school is home to ten centers, many of which are interdisciplinary. Of particular note, more than 30% of our online enrollments are veterans or active duty military students.
